As a subscriber to the Service you receive access to our Knowledge Base website (see user guide) with analysis and forecasts (updated twice a year) of the familiar macroeconomic aggregates (eg GDP, household expenditure, investment), a detailed breakdown of these aggregates into markets that are more relevant for business monitoring and planning, demand for the products of each industry and output by detailed industry. The forecast data are supported by concise, readable commentary, reviewing recent developments in the wider economy and in each industry and highlighting the main features of the forecast. Presentation meetings and email, telephone and website access are all available to support subscribers in their in-house use of the analysis. Risks and uncertainties are highlighted in a comparison of our views with other published forecasts.
Our integrated, one-model approach to forecasting ensures that the detailed industry analysis is consistent with our UK macro analysis. Forecasts and analysis for other countries and world regions put the UK forecast in the context of developments in the world economy. Our long-term annual economic forecasts run to 2020, taking account of demographic changes and investment programmes with long lead times.
